Why not use a list
server?
If you're a professional
programmer and have shell access to a machine connected
directly to the internet, then a list server may be the
thing for you. If not, you will have to pay someone
approximately $100 per hour to set up and manage one for
you. And list servers send each recipient the same message,
so you cannot personalize each message.
WorldMerge provides a very
different alternative to list servers. WorldMerge runs on
your home or office PC, doesn't require a dedicated
connection to the internet, and lets you send personalized
messages to each recipient. All without hiring a
professional programmer.
How does WorldMerge
work with my current database?
Microsoft Access and
Microsoft Excel files are directly supported. You just
specify the database filename when setting up your project.
If your database is in another format, it must be exported
to either tab delimited or comma delimited format.
Do I need a database
package such as Access to use WorldMerge?
No. You can create a
simple mailing database file using notepad. It can be as
simple as a list of email addresses.
Will WorldMerge run on
my system?
WorldMerge has been tested
to run on Windows 95, 98, Me, NT 4.0 and Windows 2000.
